The Role

We are looking to add some awesome people to our culinary team for our upcoming season. Monte Creek Winery offers a friendly, positive, and passionate environment, and we are looking for like-minded people who believe they have what it takes to join the MCW Team.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of food. Including washing, chopping and measuring. Following recipes and cooking procedures.
  • Help in maintaining inventory and records of prep and food products and report shortages.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and standards.
  • Follow recipes to ensure food presentation and portion control while maintaining consistency and quality in our products.
  • Participate and ensure that daily kitchen operations, including set up and closing are completed accordance with the procedures.
  • Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas after each use to ensure a safe and hygienic cooking environment.
  • Work with other team members to ensure that the dish area is clean and tidy and dishes are washed in a prompt and timely manner.
  • Ensuring proper equipment operation and maintenance procedures are observed.
  • Perform routine and deep cleaning tasks, such as cleaning ovens, refrigerators, freezers and other large kitchen appliances.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
  • Collaborate with the FOH team to create an unforgettable MCW experience for guests.

 

Skills & Requirements

  • BC Food Safe Level 1
  • Previous Kitchen Experience
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while being detail & task orientated.
  • Willingness to learn and help in other areas.
  • Comfortable with repetitive work.
  • Multitasking
  • Self-starts on task
  • You don’t need to be a bodybuilder, but you will need to be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Positive attitude. Because life is so much better with one.
  • Team player. Because work is so much easier if you are one.
  • Hard worker. Because the everyday is so much more meaningful when we do

  • Wage of $19/hr CAD plus gratuities to start (wage is dependent on candidate experience level)
