Kamloops Wine Trail Launches “Sips for Support” Fundraising for Red Cross BC Wildfire Relief.

For Immediate Release

July 25 2017, Kamloops, British Columbia – The Kamloops Wine Trail is giving back. Friday, July 28th marks the beginning of “Sips for Support”, a fundraising effort initiated by Kamloops wineries that will help raise money in support of those directly impacted by the BC wildfires. On this day, all tasting fees collected along the Kamloops Wine Trail will be donated to the Red Cross BC Wildfire Relief Fund. Not directly affected by the wildfire situation, the Kamloops Wine Trail is open for business and ready to help those in need.

“Our hearts go out to those people that have been displaced from their homes and the challenges they face upon re-entry.” explains Trish Morelli, Kamloops Wineries Association Executive Director. “This is our way of supporting neighbouring communities and people who are facing the devastating effects of the BC Wildfires.” “In addition, the Kamloops Wine Trail, under the “Sips for Support” banner will host a series of benefit concerts at each of the wineries with additional proceeds going to the Red Cross Wildfire Relief fund.

The first concert featuring “The Bees and the Bare Bones” will be held at Privato on Friday August 4th, followed by “Pham Band” at Monte Creek Ranch Winery on August 10th, and rounding out the series will be a performance by “Trauma” at Harper’s Trail Winery on Saturday, September 2nd.

“Sips for Support celebrates what we love most about our community and about summer in the Kamloops area – hospitable and generous people, blue skies, abundant sunshine, and of course our award-winning wines,” says Morelli. Each of the three wineries along the Kamloops Wine Trail offer a special location and unique tasting experience.

“We encourage visitors and locals to experience BC’s newest wine trail, take a tour, enjoy a concert, taste our wines, and most importantly help us raise some much-needed funds for the communities in need,” adds Morelli.

Throughout the summer, events are ongoing along the Kamloops Wine Trail including Wine Down Wednesdays at Harper’s Trail, yoga in the vineyard, an alfresco dining experience on the Terrace Restaurant at Monte Creek Ranch Winery and the Dog Days of Summer Open House Party at Privato on July 30th.

The Kamloops Wine Trail is easily accessible from Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Seattle and winery tasting rooms are open 7 days a week all summer long.
